It is hard to open a newspaper or listen to a news report without being innundated with information about Internet business. The opportunites are endless, but the realities are harsh. One of the most brutal is that few companies, regardless of size or reputation, have truly succeeded in e-commerce. A rare exception to this is CISCO Systems. This volume shows business managers how to exploit the potential of the Internet based upon CISCO System's strategic approach.

No man can learn all there is to know about forecasting the trend of stocks in 3, 5, 10, or 20 years but if he is a deep student and hard worker, he learns more and knowledge comes easier after years of experience. I knew more about determining the trend of stocks in 1923 than I did in 1911. Seven more years of experience gave me more knowledge and enabled me to write THE WALL STREET STOCK SELECTOR in 1939 and give my readers the benefit of my increased knowledge. Now, after five more years have elapsed my experience and practical test of new rules have enabled me to learn more of value since 1930. The 1929-1932 panic and what has followed since, gave me valuable experience and I have gained more knowledge about detecting the right stocks to buy and sell. W.D. Gann CONTENTS I. Screen storytelling is an essentially collaborative process. Writers need feedback but too often the notes they receive stall them and even demoralize them. This book unpacks the whys and what-fors of all the most commonly given notes on scripts, stories, and writers themselves. Coming from the perspective of experienced Hollywood professionals, Notes to Screenwriters offers insightful and concise guidance on the entire storytelling process, as well as what comes before it in the life of the writer, and after it in the marketing of the screenplay. It is a unique blend of classical storytelling principles combined with practical knowledge of the contemporary marketplace. This book is destined to be a resource for every writer who gets past the initial stage of writing a first draft and needs sage counsel for what to do next. Vicki Peterson is a screenwriter and founding partner of Catharsis (storycatharsis.com), which mentors writers and develops screen projects for various producers. Vicki’s most recent writing projects include television pilots, Mind Over Matter and Alum Rock Ave, which is with Herrick Entertainment. Her feature, Mother at War is with producer Ken Stewart. The aim of value investing is to identify stocks that are undervalued and which can be expected to produce an above average return in the future. And the message from the history of investing is clear: if you successfully pursue a value investing strategy over the long term, you will earn an above average return on your portfolio. The goal of The New Value Investing is to help you identify undervalued stocks and teach you how to build your own successful value investing portfolio. Added to this, it is important to understand that value investing is inextricably linked with behavioral finance, and research advances in this area in recent years strengthen the case for value investing. The author explains how stock prices are determined by emotional crowds, how this leads to mispriced stocks and opportunities for the value investor, and how you can harness the insights of behavioral finance to improve your value investing approach. As you work through this book, the author shows how to follow the path from analysis of the economy, to the industry, to company financial statements, to creating a value range for a company's stock. In this book, you will learn: how to remove emotion from your investment process; the essential elements of portfolio construction; what a value investor should observe in the wider economy and the market; where to find investment ideas; how to read a company's financial statements from a value investing perspective; dividend valuation, earnings valuation and other valuation techniques; how to undertake a full valuation analysis, with two complete worked examples of stock valuation for real-life companies; and what professional value investors at investment funds analyse and how they make their decisions. Value investing is within everyone's reach, so why doesn't everyone use it? The key is patience. The approach works over the long term if you stick with it and the result could be extra hundreds, thousands or millions in your portfolio at the end of your investment horizon.

Don’t rock the boat. Don’t make waves. Don’t offend anyone. There’s a palpable feeling that clouds many team meetings and keeps them from being productive: over-politeness. And while the conflict that naturally exists in most organizations hasn’t gone away, it manifests itself in passive aggression, mediocrity, and a molasses-like inability to get anything done. Nice Teams Finish Last provides the antidote to this all too common tendency, giving managers, team leaders and members, and facilitators the practical exercises and assessment tools they need to battle “the nice trap” and start getting results! The book helps readers encourage skills such as constructive criticism, honest communication, and the kind of conflict that drives innovation and quality. From giving clear, sharp feedback, to effectively challenging others, this book provides the eye-opening tools teams need to achieve very nice results! Do you ever get the feeling that your team would be more productive if everyone would just say what it is they’re really thinking? Express their opinions without worrying about other people’s feelings, office politics, and the fear of pushing things off-track?  When it comes to working with others, we’re all taught not to make waves, and not to rock the boat. But when the tensions, conflicts, and differing opinions that naturally exist in every organization are left unspoken and unresolved, team meetings can be left in a cloud of mediocrity, passive-aggression, and a molasses-like inability to get anything done.
